The design of the school has been developed by Scottish and international architects, Holmes Miller, who have an unrivalled reputation in the delivery of unique and inspiring schools. Whilst not seeking to replicate the historical campus of Merchiston Castle School in Edinburgh, the design references the ethos, qualities and values of the school, translated in a contemporary manner, and reinforces the forward thinking and 21st century outlook of the establishment. The design of MCIS aims to provide an unparalleled educational space for teaching, learning and boarding accommodation, ensure the school integrates an exciting and adventurous campus life with a beautiful academic space for all students and teaching staff.
