翻譯題目

近年來(lái)，隨著中國(guó)政治及經(jīng)濟(jì)實(shí)力的不斷提升，學(xué)中文的外國(guó)人越來(lái)越多。據(jù)統(tǒng)計(jì)，全球約有三千萬(wàn)人正在學(xué)習(xí)中文，而這一人數(shù)還在不斷增加。在加拿大，雖然覺(jué)得漢語(yǔ)十分難學(xué)，但人們學(xué)中文的興趣卻與日俱增。 他們喜歡中國(guó)文化，也意識(shí)到學(xué)習(xí)中文預(yù)示著更多的機(jī)遇。如今，孔子學(xué)院(Confucius Institute)遍布世界各地，致力于推廣中國(guó)文化及語(yǔ)言。

表達(dá)難點(diǎn)

1.第1句中“隨著中國(guó)政治及經(jīng)濟(jì)實(shí)力的不斷提升”用as引導(dǎo)狀語(yǔ)從句，譯為asChina's political and economic power is on the rise，名詞短語(yǔ)“政治及經(jīng)濟(jì)實(shí)力”作為一個(gè)整體，故謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞用單數(shù)形式。

2.翻譯第2句時(shí)，根據(jù)英語(yǔ)表達(dá)習(xí)慣，把“全球”轉(zhuǎn)換成狀語(yǔ)，用短語(yǔ)aroundthe world來(lái)表達(dá)?！叭藬?shù)”直接用 number表達(dá)，謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞用現(xiàn)在進(jìn)行時(shí)is increasing來(lái)表達(dá)“不斷增長(zhǎng)”之義。

3.第3句“雖然……，但……”的結(jié)構(gòu)不能譯為although…， but…，但可譯為although…， still…?！坝X(jué)得……難”可套用結(jié)構(gòu)sb. find sth. difficult來(lái)表達(dá)?！叭藗儗W(xué)中文的興趣卻與日俱增”可逐字對(duì)譯為the interest of people's learning Chinese is growing，但主語(yǔ)部分太長(zhǎng)，句子顯得頭重腳輕;再者主語(yǔ)是interest，與前半句的主語(yǔ)people銜接不協(xié)調(diào)，故應(yīng)保持主語(yǔ)為“人們”，用人稱代詞they來(lái)代替，以避免重復(fù)。

4.最后一句“孔子學(xué)院遍布世界各地”翻譯時(shí)可加上短語(yǔ)set up，使句子意思更完整，譯文讀起來(lái)更順暢。“致力于推廣中國(guó)文化及語(yǔ)言”用現(xiàn)在分詞短語(yǔ)committing itself to promoting Chinese culture and language來(lái)表達(dá)，這里to是介詞，后接動(dòng)形式。

In recent years, as China's political and economic power is on the rise, more and more foreigners are learning Chinese. According to statistics, there are about 30 million people learning Chinese around the world, and this number is still increasing. In Canada, although people find Chinese very difficult, they still show growing interest in its study. They like Chinese culture, and also realize that learning Chinese may mean more opportunities. Today, Confucius Institutes are set up worldwide committing itself to promoting Chinese culture and language.
