are
Are you there?
用：電話上沉默了一會兒后， （如一方在核對東西，或在找人或被別人叫走一會兒等）再呼叫時(shí)的用語。
意：喂，你在聽嗎？
例.A:Hello, are you there? Wcll,I can't find the contract now. Can you gct back to me in half an hour?
喂，你在聽嗎？嗯，我現(xiàn)在找不到那份合同，你半小時(shí)后再給我來
電可以嗎？
B：Allright，thanks!
好吧，多謝！
Aren't (Don't,HaYen't)we all

用：指對別人說的話不表示同情，是一種不滿、不服氣的態(tài)度。
意：大家都一樣；誰不是！
例.A:All the old guy wants is gold and silver,and a beautiful woman.
老家伙想要的是金子、銀子，還有漂亮的女人！
B：Don't we all!
這些誰都想要！
A: Don't bother Greg. He's quite busy at this moment.
別打擾格雷格，他這會兒很忙。
B: Aren't we alll l wouldn't, if he were not the supervisor!
誑不忙！他要不是廠監(jiān)我才不找他呢！
A: No, he can’t do it at once. He's been running the machine for many hours.
不行，他不能馬上做，他開那臺機(jī)器好幾個(gè)小時(shí)沒停了。
B: Haven't we aU?I haven't had a chance to shut my eyes in the last 14 hours!
誰停過！我已經(jīng)14個(gè)小時(shí)都沒合一下眼了
用：表示對別人的建議、陳述、解釋的不滿。有時(shí)可單獨(dú)使用As if!
意：不贊同、氣憤、懷疑、不相信（具體譯文根據(jù)上下文而定）
例.As ifl really cared!
我才不在乎呢！
As if you expect me to believe that!
難道你想讓我相信那種事！
A: I'm going to take you out for a Chinese meal on Saturday!
星期六我要帶你去吃中餐！
B: As if!You've said that so many times before, and never done it!
跟真的似的！以前你說了那么多次，從沒見你兌現(xiàn)過。
as.like
意：多半：很可能；大概會
例：He likes to stay outside in hot weather.He'II be in this garden,as like as not.
熱天他喜歡呆在外面。他多半是呆在這園子里。
As likely as not, she will win the scholarship.
很有可能她會獲得這項(xiàng)獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金。
as 形容詞 as anything
用：這個(gè)短語也可說as.as you Iike。
意：非常；相當(dāng)；很容易就…；…跟什么似的
例.I could climb up that tree as easy as anything.
我可以很容易就爬上那棵樹。
It was only a small gift,but she was as pleased as anything with it.
那只是個(gè)小禮物，可她高興得跟什么似的。
“Get away, it's not your dog and you're not my daddy!”the boy said as rude as you like．
“走開，這不是你的狗，你也不是我爸爸！”那孩子非常粗魯?shù)卣f道。
