I was accepted to the college of your choice.” Obviously, the implication of the portrayal is that the daughter is lack of independence due to her mother’s doting care.

The lovely daughter is naturally associated with the only children in our current society; the college of the mother’s choice epitomizes parents’ doting care and abundant material supplies that can shield the children from the harsh reality.
