1. If an employee can succeed in a difficult assignment overseas, superiors will have greater confidence in his or her ability to cope back in the United States where cross-cultural considerations and foreign language issues are becoming more and more prevalent. (2003. 閱讀. Text 3)

【析句】復(fù)合句。整個句子以條件狀語從句if an employee can succeed in a difficult assignment overseas開頭，主句在后，superiors will have greater confidence in his ability to cope back in the US,其中含有短語have confidence in...,his ability作in的賓語，而to cope...則是his ability的賓語補足語。最后where cross-cultural considerations...are becoming more and more prevalent作the United States的定語從句。

2. A second language isn't generally required to get a job in business, but having language skills gives a candidate the edge when other qualifications appear to be equal. (2003. 閱讀. Text 3)

【析句】復(fù)合句。整個句子由兩個成轉(zhuǎn)折關(guān)系的分句構(gòu)成，前句A second language isn't required to get a job為簡單句，后句主句為but having language skills gives a candidate the edge，注意其中的短語give sb the edge是have advantage over的意思。主句后還有時間狀語從句when our qualifications appear to be equal.

3. The employee posted abroad who speaks the country's principal language has an opportunity to fast-forward certain negotiations, and can have the cultural insight to know when it is better to move more slowly. (2003. 閱讀. Text 3)

【析句】復(fù)合句。句子主干是The employee has an opportunity to...and can have the cultural insight to know when從句。
主句主語The employee后有兩個修飾成分，首先是posted abroad為過去分詞作定語，然后是who speaks the country's principal language作定語從句。最后when it is better to move more slowly作know的賓語從句。
