這句話的意思是：到了必須走的日子了。這句話的主句是then came the day，定于從句是for which he has to leave。它修飾先行詞the day，the day表示時間。這句話是想用“介詞 which”來引導(dǎo)。這個病句出錯就在于這個介詞上。

我們現(xiàn)在把the day放入定語從句中，您看這個空格處填寫哪個介詞。He had to leave the day. 表示”在某天“，我們用介詞on，即：on the day。那么，病句中的定語從句就要用“on which”來引導(dǎo)。

此外，on which可以用that來代替。因此這個病句可以有三種方式來改正：
