考研翻譯真題中的平行結(jié)構(gòu)

平行結(jié)構(gòu)是英語中常見結(jié)構(gòu)，十分重要卻屢屢被忽視，對它的辨識可以幫助快速清晰劃分句子結(jié)構(gòu)。所謂平行結(jié)構(gòu)即把句中屬于同一句法成分的并列事物用相同結(jié)構(gòu)表達(dá)，因此并列結(jié)構(gòu)前后往往呈現(xiàn)對稱性。從理解角度而言，掌握這一特點(diǎn)，可以幫助很快切分句子，在做閱讀的時候，可以幫助清晰理解復(fù)雜句子和段落，甚至直接得分。

這里對考研英語真題翻譯題目進(jìn)行分析。

一、修飾成分平行

在今年英語一翻譯48題的主語很長(Beethoven’s habit of increasing the volume with an extreme intensity andthen abruptly following it with a sudden soft passage)，但是一旦判斷出平行結(jié)構(gòu)，主語就可以簡化為Beethoven’s habit，of引導(dǎo)并列的動名詞結(jié)構(gòu)increasing the volume withan extreme intensity 和 following it with a suddensoft passage，因此就翻譯為“貝多芬表演時習(xí)慣把音量提至頂點(diǎn)，然后驟然轉(zhuǎn)到柔和的篇章”。同樣，49題中，he advocated freedom ofthought and of personal expression，在辨別出平行結(jié)構(gòu)后，該句主干就很快辨識出為he advocated freedom。這里and連接了兩個of的并列，這兩個of結(jié)構(gòu)作后置定語修飾freedom。還原為he advocated freedom of thoughtand (freedom)of personal expression。

二、主干成分平行

英語一翻譯50題saying的賓語從句主干部分中，并列連詞but并列了一個主系表結(jié)構(gòu)(suffering is inevitable)和一個主謂結(jié)構(gòu)(the courage to fight it renders life worth living)。英語二翻譯第一段最后一句According to Tal Ben-Shahar,realistic optimists are those who make the best of things thathappen, but not those who believe everything happens for the best，其中也包含了并列結(jié)構(gòu)，主干為realistic optimists are those, but not those，復(fù)雜之處在于對兩個those都有定語從句修飾，這也體現(xiàn)了平行結(jié)構(gòu)的對稱性。

三、文章結(jié)構(gòu)平行

文章結(jié)構(gòu)的平行有隱性和顯性兩種，隱性平行往往通過內(nèi)在邏輯實(shí)現(xiàn)，而顯性平行則往往有明顯的并列關(guān)系詞。例如英語二真題第二段第一句Ben-Shahar uses three optimistic exercises.，從three看出以下應(yīng)該有三個部分平行，但是本題難在第一層含義沒有出現(xiàn)顯性關(guān)系詞，而第二層和第三層則分別有next和finally兩個詞來表明。如果能注意到這點(diǎn)，則能夠很快理清做題思路，否則會陷入句子細(xì)節(jié)本身，文章結(jié)構(gòu)雜亂。
