3.already，yet 兩者均為“已經(jīng)”之意，但already一般用于肯定句中，而yet一般用于否定句和疑問句中，如：The guests have already arrived.“客人已經(jīng)到了?！盚ave the guests arrived yet?客人到了嗎？The guests have not arrived yet.“客人還沒有到?！辈贿^，有時(shí)already也可用于疑問句中，但意義與yet不同，already用于疑問句中表示驚訝。試比較：

（1）Have you had lunch yet？

（2）Have you had your lunch already？

句（1）是詢問信息，意為：“你吃過午飯了嗎？”句（2）表示驚訝，意為“你已經(jīng)吃過午飯了？”yet有時(shí)也用于肯定句中，但yet在肯定句中的意思與still相同，表示“仍然、還”，與already不同：Don't worry. There is yet/still time for you to prepare for the exam.“不用擔(dān)心，你仍然有時(shí)間去準(zhǔn)備參加考試?！盩he plans are yet to be approved. “計(jì)劃尚待批準(zhǔn)?！被蛘弑硎荆ㄎ磥砟骋粫r(shí)間）“遲早、早晚”：He may surprise us all yet.“他遲早會(huì)使我們大吃一驚的?！盩he enemy may win yet if we relax our efforts.“如果我們松勁，敵人還是遲早有可能獲勝的?！?

4.also，either，too，as well四者意思相同，但在用法上有不同。Also比較正式，用于肯定句或疑問句：Her sister has also gone to town. “她妹妹（或姐姐）也上城里去了?！盇re you also a member of his association? “你也是這個(gè)協(xié)會(huì)的成員嗎？”either只用于否定句，常出現(xiàn)于句尾：It won't do them any good，but it won't do them any harm either. 這事于他們無補(bǔ)也無損。Too和as well較口語化，?？苫Q使用：The dog is hungry，and thirsty too/as well. 這條狗既餓又渴。區(qū)別在于too只能用于肯定句，且在句中位置靈活：We，too，are going away.我們也要離開。As well 一般只用于句末：I understood from her that you undertook other important work as well.“我從她那里了解到你還干其他一些重要的活?！?
