第330期:but使用誤區(qū)的歸納總結(jié)_初級英語口語

近期，我們一直針對“but”這個(gè)詞作為“除了......”這個(gè)意思解釋時(shí)，我們在使用時(shí)會走入的誤區(qū)進(jìn)行學(xué)習(xí)和探究，那么我們今天來做個(gè)總結(jié)歸納。

第一、當(dāng)but和could not choose搭配一起來表示“別無選擇只好做某事”的意思時(shí)，but后面跟動詞原形，即：could not but do something。

例句回顧：We could not choose but ask for help.

我們別無選擇只好求助。

錯(cuò)誤表述：We could not choose but to ask for help.

第二、當(dāng)but和could not help 搭配一起來表示“忍不住，禁不住做某事”的意思時(shí)，but后面直接跟動詞原形，即：could not help but do something。

例句回顧：I could not help but accept his conditions.

我們無可奈何只有接受他的條件。

錯(cuò)誤表述：I could not help but to accept his conditions.

第三、當(dāng)but后面是人稱代詞，不是做主語的情況下，跟人稱代詞的賓格形式。如果做主語的話，就使用主格形式。

例句回顧：They all have been to mountain Tai but me.

除了我之外，其他人都去過泰山。

錯(cuò)誤表述：They all have been to mountain Tai but I.

例句回顧：Who but he would do such a thing?

除了他還有誰做這樣的事情呢？

錯(cuò)誤表述：Who but him would do such a thing.

第四、當(dāng)but和for一起連用作為復(fù)合介詞的話，句子要使用虛擬語氣。But for是“倘若沒有，要不是”的意思，在句中用作狀語，其后面常常是已經(jīng)發(fā)生的事情，那么虛擬語氣在句子中的謂語的體現(xiàn)是使用過去完成時(shí)，不要使用一般過去式。

例句回顧：But for her help , we could not have won the game.

要是沒有她的幫助，我們不可能獲勝的。

錯(cuò)誤表述：But for her help , we cannot win the game.

第五、當(dāng)but和do nothing連用表示“除了做某事其他事情沒做”，but后面接動詞原形，即：do nothing but do something.

例句回顧：Yesterday I did nothing but write some new words.

昨天，我就寫了幾個(gè)新詞，其余的事情就沒做了。

錯(cuò)誤表述：Yesterday I did nothing but to write some new words.

第六、除了以上說的情況外，句子的謂語如果不是do的任何形式，but后面接動詞就得接帶to的不定式，即：but to do something。

例句回顧：I miss the last bus, I had no choice but to take a taxi.

我錯(cuò)過了最后一班公交車，只好打的了。
