Have you ever heard someone say they were "dressed to kill," don't worry, you're not in any danger -- it's just the opposite.

您聽過某人說“dressed to kill(穿好衣服去殺人)”么?別擔(dān)心,沒有什么危險——而恰恰相反。
Do you see that couple over there?
你看見那邊那對夫婦了么?
Yeah, it looks like they are going into that new restaurant. They look great!

In American English, "dressed to kill!" is a different way of saying "dressed very attractively" or "dressed to impress."
在美語中,“dress to kill”(穿得美極了)是“dressed very attractively”和“dressed to impress”另外一種說法。
This phrase came from criminals...
這個短語來源于犯罪分子……
In the past, people who were professional criminals often dressed in fancy clothing to hide the fact that they were doing horrible things.
過去,專業(yè)的罪犯總是穿著光鮮亮麗的衣服,用以掩蓋他們在做壞事。
So, if you were "dressed to kill" back then, you would be wearing a pretty nice looking outfit.
所以,在過去如果你是“dressed to kill”(準備實施犯罪活動),你應(yīng)該穿上非常漂亮的套裝。
